Vision, Values, Ethos & Mission

A statement on our schools ethos and values.

Aspire and achieve through opportunity and experience.

Our mission

WE WILL SEE CHRIST IN EVERYONE

The staff and governors of St Oswald’s value every individual associated with our school by living out Gospel values.  We are mutually supportive and respectful of each other which engenders a calm, safe and welcoming environment.  For our children, we strive to develop self-esteem and a positive self-image which leads to pride in their achievements and an ability to reach their full potential, physically, academically, mentally and spiritually.  We believe that Christian values should pervade every part of the curriculum and the way it is delivered.  We foster a welcoming atmosphere and support parents in the nurture and development of their child’s learning and wellbeing.  Staff are valued and encouraged to develop and enrich their own lives.  As a school we are all part of one larger family within the Bishop Wilkinson Trust: children and families; staff and governors; our parish; our feeder school – Cardinal Hume Catholic School and the wider community we serve.
