Welcome

As headteacher it gives me great pleasure to welcome you to our school website.

We pride ourselves on our excellent relationships with children, staff, parents, carers and governors. St Oswald’s is a thriving Catholic community, where everyone is valued and is given the best opportunity to achieve fully. Whilst academic achievement is very important, it must be balanced with the children’s social, moral and spiritual formation.

It is important to me that you, as parents and carers, have a voice and feel that school is approachable and welcoming and that any concerns you may have can be shared, so please never hesitate to get in touch.

Calendar

Letters

We send out letters and newsletters on a regular basis to keep parents up to date with school decisions and progress.

At St Oswald's Catholic Primary School, we keep our parents, carers and families informed about upcoming events and celebrations of our children's successes. We regularly publish a newsletter, which is sent out electronically to all of our parents and is made available on this page. We also use Social media to share the very latest events, learning and religious celebrations that take place within our school.

We had a fabulous afternoon with Bishop Stephen. He had a tour of the whole school with our Head Pupils, shared in a liturgy with Y3/4 and was grilled by Y5/6 in a Q & A session!

Year 1 – All About Animals

Year 1 children have started their Science topic ‘All about animals’ this week. To celebrate this, we had an animal-based Golden Time to complete our first week back. We coloured in pictures of our favourite animals, used paint to create animal footprints and also made our own farms and zoos!
